CERN Cricket Club Match Manager responsibilities

Each weekend's fixtures will be organised by a match manager. The match manager must:

  1. be present for the fixture. If, for any reason, the manager cannot fulfil his obligations, it is his responsibility to find a replacement
  2. find out the availability of players for the weekend match(es) making sure that in the case of a league match all players are registered with the SCA and hence eligible to play (Note: a player is not eligible until 15 days after the registration form has been sent to the league secretary)
  3. Consult the selection committee on team selection
  4. decide who will captain the match(es) if neither the Club Captain or Vice-Captain are available
  5. Ensure that the scorebook has been returned from the previous week!
  6. For Home Games
  7. For Away Games
  8. ensure that the scorebook is correctly filled in before leaving the ground, cross-checking with the opposition's scorebook.
  9. For league matches
  10. nominate someone to write the match report for the weekly bulletin.

  11. Ensure that details of the result and the scorebook (or copies of the relevant pages) are sent to the CERN CC Web Master as soon as possible.
